Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off (12-hour evening shifts)
Pay: $29–$34/hour (up to $85,000/year based on experience)

About the Role

Chalk Mountain Services of Texas is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you’ll perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on company-owned trucks and equipment. Responsibilities

• Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
• Identify and diagnose malfunctions
• Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and diagnostic results
• Inspect, repair, and replace worn or defective parts (bearings, pistons, gears, brakes, transmissions, engines, etc.)
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
• Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws
• Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical/electrical components
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment
• Ensure compliance with company, federal, and state safety regulations
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Maintain reliable attendance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must provide or have access to hand tools for heavy truck and diesel engine repair
• Ability to pass drug test, background check, and maintain a clean driving record (MVR)
• Willingness to obtain Texas Vehicle Inspection License within 180 days of employment
• Experience with Cummins, Eaton, Bendix & PACCAR diagnostic software is a plus
